We started by figuring out what makes the Kaaboo festival so unique amongst other festivals. After realizing tons of other leading venues had just as big of bands, attacted similar crowds, and provided much of the same food and beverage options, we realized there was one thing that set Kaaboo apart: The location. It's the only festival of it's size to be held steps from the ocean. Using that attribute, we honed in on the correlation between the music and location and developed a concept that would resonate throughout the visual campaign: Sound. Waves.
Once a concept and visual direction was chosen, we got to work on the look-and-feel of the elements promoting the event. We started with the promotional posters, infusing the wave pattern with bold typography, a bright color palette and dramatic black and white imagery.
We also designed a variety of marketing and collateral pieces for the experience within the concert. From a thorough program outlining all the details of the three-day event to lanyards, giveaways, sales kits and apparel, we made sure the Kaaboo festival was visually sound from every angle.
