Developing a strong, unique logomark was crucial for this brand to stand out from the competition. Considering the complexity of what Maxx had to offer, with an upwards of hundreds of thousands of belt combinations, we decided to keep the mark itself simple and identifiable on any surface. We concentrated on the slide belt technology, and the "teeth" used to lock the belt in place. Combine that with a strong, curved "M," and the mark was ready for tournament play.
When it came time to designing the packaging system, we wanted to create as much of a luxurious experience in presenting the belt and the user would get when wearing it. We used advanced printing techniques like soft touch and letterpress to create a feeling of elegance. We also included personalized messaging pieces like fitting guides and a handwritten letter, both of which drive the concept of complete customization.
Departure developed an extensive set of marketing collateral in efforts to extend the brand to various channels. From both digital and print catalogs to condensed product lines, we engaged potential buyers from all angles, all while keeping the brand messaging consistent.
